Don't You Want The Sale?



My gorgeous wife and I had a road trip this week. We booked some time in the diary and took the day off.

We love going on drives because we have some fabulous conversation in the car and we see some amazing things wherever we go.

Like many tourists, we are always interested in what it would be like to live different places. Sometimes, we even have a conversation with the real estate agents.

This day, we saw a house we both liked but it had no price range. We went into the agent's office and asked the person behind the desk about the price range. Now I fully expected them to get the sales person because they usually do. I don't blame them. It is all about having a conversation, discovering if I am really a prospect or a tyre kicker.

They didn't know the price range and said they would check and went out the back. After a bit of typing and muffled conversation they returned to the front and said, "It is a new listing so I don't know any details. Here is the sales director's card you can call him and he will know."

My immediate thought was, "Don't you want the sale?"

They could have taken my details, called the sales director themselves, given me some indicative ranges for the area, offered to get back to me or any other range of ideas rather than dismissing me and making me take the next action.
